THIS IS A FREE TO PLAY **NON-PROFIT** FAN GAME WITH PARODY INTENTIONS!
Although a lot of this game is original work with unique monsters/enemy art, town designs, dungeon designs, story, characters, scenario, etc…. There are also A LOT of assets that weren’t made by me and are heavily modified, edited, and borrowed from the Earthbound series. Even the music is just straight up from the games…
So for that reason and copyright reasons alone… THIS IS NON-PROFIT AND FREE TO PLAY GAME WITH PARODY INTENTIONS!
*Ahem* Anyway…
WELCOME TO THE STRANGE AND BIZARRE WORLD OF…. Michigan?
MichiganBound was a game I developed back in high school 13 years ago in RPG Maker VX ACE.
The aim was to create an exaggerated fantasized retelling of my high school experience through the lens of the Mother/Earthbound series. The game stars… Well… Me! Danger Deckman! Me and my real life friends as we journey through Michigan battling our own unique bizarre foes, supernatural entities, as well as solving our own strange mysteries!
The project during that time unfortunately, became WAAAAY too ambitious and extremely difficult to develop for a high schooler in 2011, so I just gave up and moved onto other projects.
13 years later, as I got older, I started refining my creative skills, writing, and coding abilities which led me to a funny revelation… Why don’t I just go back and finish MichiganBound? Hire some artists to help me fix the enemy art and I go ahead and bug fix/balance the entire game??
Well! It finally happened! MichiganBound is now finished and FREE TO PLAY!
Now I use the word “finished” loosely, the original idea I had for this game was way too massive and large for just me to fully do by myself… So I settled for the next best thing, I basically found a good stopping point/final boss finale and an ending that would function as really good sequel bait… But essentially I manage to create closure to the story of MichiganBound in some way.
If this game ever grows in popularity, I might seriously consider completing the story (I’m still on the fence about this though because I am mainly posting this here with the intention to close an old door from my past, but never say NEVER!)
Also, the real life Braden (who you get to play as in this game) wanted me to release this for a very long time… So I hope you like Braden! I wrote us all stupid in this LOL.
What’s the story you ask? It’s too ridiculous to write it all out, you are just going to have to find out for yourself!

Install instructions
****HOW TO PLAY****
Unzip the file, Launch the Application with the Dragon Head! Should be good to go!
Game length: Give or take 3 hours or so, depending if you are good at RPGs
****HOW TO PLAY IN FULL SCREEN!****
Launch the game as normal, press F1 and it will bring up the Options menu.
Here you can select Full screen BUT YOU NEED TO RESTART THE GAME FOR IT TO TAKE EFFECT!
There’s also an option to map a controller! Very cool!
